Notes & source
- Flexible unit: keep the 4:1 ratio and scale between 900×225 and 1800×450 density-independent pixels (dp)
- Minimum width and height are in dp, which equal pixels at 1x density
- Build at 2x for sharp screens
- Static image size 1800×450 dp
- Initial load up to 250 kB, subload up to 500 kB
- Max file size is the initial-load k-weight: IAB applies the initial load limit to static image ads and backup images
- Weights are gzipped and count every file the ad requests before the page load event
- Subload starts after it, and user-initiated loads are unlimited
- At most 10 file requests during initial load
- Exempt shared libraries add up to 50 kB
- Ads stay muted unless the user starts audio, and must be clearly distinguishable from content (a border is the usual way)
- On 3G or slower connections IAB asks for file weights 30% below these limits
