Notes & source
- Build at 640×1136, 750×1334 or 1080×1920
- Initial load up to 300 kB, subload up to 600 kB
- IAB defines an interstitial as an ad between pages of content: it must not overlay content the user is already engaging with
- Max file size is the initial-load k-weight: IAB applies the initial load limit to static image ads and backup images
- Weights are gzipped and count every file the ad requests before the page load event
- Subload starts after it, and user-initiated loads are unlimited
- At most 10 file requests during initial load
- Exempt shared libraries add up to 50 kB
- Ads stay muted unless the user starts audio, and must be clearly distinguishable from content (a border is the usual way)
- On 3G or slower connections IAB asks for file weights 30% below these limits
